Depression & Anxiety Support Groups

Overview

This is an open, general therapy group for adult individuals seeking support, affirmation, and reinforcement of successful coping skills in their struggles with depression and anxiety.  Each group will begin with a structured check-in period for each member to share not only their present struggles, but also their successes in coping with depression and anxiety.  The remainder of the group time will be used to explore and overcome common, reoccurring themes in our families, relationships, and occupational activities that often generate and perpetuate our struggles with depression and anxiety.

Group Meeting Times

The group will be from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm and is an open-ended group.  This group has been running for over 1 ½ years and new members are welcome.

Breaks in the weekly schedule due to holidays and/or facilitator vacations will be communicated in advance.

Attendance

All members are asked to commit for an initial 10 sessions.  After that time, group members are welcome to remain active in the group as long as the group is beneficial to them and they are able to regularly attend sessions.  Members are expected to provide 24 hours notice should they be unable to attend any of the scheduled group sessions.

Group Size

The group is co-educational and is limited to no more than 8 members.

Fees & Payment

Most major insurances are accepted.

For private payers, the fee is $75 per group and is due at each session.  A sliding fee is offered and can be determined collaboratively with the group facilitator.
